In August, KaDISS shall resume its full programme of classes at international level for new actorsIn August, KaDISS shall resume its full programme of classes at international level for new actorsand performers-in-training and continue to contribute to the cultural and educational activities ofKalamata and the region.KaDISS 2022 will run Monday-Saturday, 16th August-4th September, from 09.00 in the morning to16.00 in the afternoon. This year we are offering places for up to 12 students. This number willpermit us to form an ensemble of collaborative artists-in-training, while also allowing the teachersto give personal attention to each participant.The course will be taught in English by a team of tutor-practitioners of international reputation.The application deadline for KaDISS 2021 is Sunday, 16th July 2022.

Both are non-profit making organisations committed to encouraginginnovation and training in the performing arts.The annual Summer School (KaDISS) reaches out to young performers worldwide to come toKalamata and supplement and develop their professional training and artistic skills. It is aimed atprofessional actors, graduates of drama schools and young people who already have professionalexperience in performance, as well as those in other areas of the performing arts, such as operaand music theatre, who require an acting ability or foundation in acting, and who want to evolvetheir own methodology and skills in acting.The 3-week Summer School provides an invaluable resource for actors-in-training or actors at theearly stage in their career as well as those wishing for a rigorous re-appraisal of their abilities andskills. The aim is to develop the actor’s flexibility in performance through an encounter with thetwo fundamental genres in European theatre.

Through immersion in and exploration of the dramatic language of Shakespeare (Scene Study) andThrough immersion in and exploration of the dramatic language of Shakespeare (Scene Study) andthe Greek Classical Theatre (Classical Theatre Lab) as dual foundations, as well as PhysicalPerformance and Vocal Performance, the intensive course provides comprehensive re-examinationof the actor’s craft through reasoned preparation, focused energy and stimulated imagination, aswell as enhancement of skills within the framework of ensemble theatre-making.
