The Municipal Gallery of Kallithea “Sofia Laskaridou” hosts the art exhibition of Penelope Spyridonos, entitled “Snapshots of Life”, from February 12 to 28, 2025.

The exhibition “Snapshots of Life” highlights the small, seemingly insignificant moments of everyday life that make up the essence of our lives. With an experiential nature, Penelope brings us images from her childhood in Venezuela, where she grew up as a second-generation immigrant, while then she guides us through the neighborhoods of Athens. Through her works, the figures acquire movement, liveliness and emotional intensity, capturing the beauty, the difficulties, but also the struggle of the people of labor. The figures come to life in the paintings, telling stories that are at once personal and collective, stories of the real protagonists of life. Penelope brings to the fore the children who live the horror of war, who experience refugeehood, who lose their lives in all ways. With a deep anti-war feeling, she troubles us and reminds us that children are not just numbers in the news…

ΠΗΝΕΛΟΠΗ ΣΠΥΡΙΔΩΝΟΣ

ΣΤΙΓΜΙΟΤΥΠΑ ΖΩΗΣ

Η Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη Καλλιθέας «Σοφία Λασκαρίδου» φιλοξενεί την εικαστική έκθεση της Πηνελόπης Σπυρίδωνος, με τίτλο «Στιγμιότυπα Ζωής», από τις 12 έως τις 28 Φεβρουαρίου 2025.

Η έκθεση «Στιγμιότυπα Ζωής» αναδεικνύει τις μικρές, φαινομενικά ασήμαντες στιγμές της καθημερινότητας που συνθέτουν την ουσία της ζωής μας. Με βιωματικό χαρακτήρα, η Πηνελόπη μας μεταφέρει εικόνες από τα παιδικά της χρόνια στη Βενεζουέλα, όπου μεγάλωσε ως μετανάστρια δεύτερης γενιάς, ενώ στη συνέχεια μας ξεναγεί στις γειτονιές της Αθήνας. Μέσα από τα έργα της, οι μορφές αποκτούν κίνηση, ζωντάνια και συναισθηματική ένταση, αποτυπώνοντας την ομορφιά, τις δυσκολίες, αλλά και τον αγώνα των ανθρώπων του μόχθου. Οι φιγούρες ζωντανεύουν μέσα στους πίνακες, αφηγούμενες ιστορίες που είναι ταυτόχρονα προσωπικές και συλλογικές, ιστορίες των πραγματικών πρωταγωνιστών της ζωής. Η Πηνελόπη φέρνει στο προσκήνιο τα παιδιά που ζουν τη φρίκη του πολέμου, που βιώνουν την προσφυγιά, που χάνουν τη ζωή τους με όλους τους τρόπους. Με βαθύ αντιπολεμικό αίσθημα μας προβληματίζει και μας υπενθυμίζει πως τα παιδιά δεν είναι μόνο
νούμερα στα δελτία ειδήσεων…
