Tirana Film Institute carries out its activities in organizing artistic, cultural and cinematographic film weeks, national and international festivals.

TFI is also engaged at all times with film and audiovisual production, the design of publicity campaigns, various marketing activities, promotion and film distribution through various shows, screenings and publications.

The rich experience that the staff of TFI disposes of allows successfully to organize Tirana International Film Festival in its 15th edition. TFI launched in 2015 a new international film festival as DocuTIFF based on the documentary feature, mid-length and short.

TIFF on Tour act as an ambassador for the submitted films and will travel with a selection to other Albanian cities during the year. TIFF will also propose special screenings to other regional festivals in accordance with a specific subject or theme.

TFI has started a new successful experience as film distributor getting also supports from Media-CE.

Being an international film festival we accept for submission films from all European Countries and around the world, made by prominent or young directors that treat a variety of themes that incite debates for different target audiences. Based submissions till now, TIFF 2017 will present films that deal with the present plights of the society such as emigration and border crossing, war and religion, social exclusion, but also the beautiful idyllic life and love. At the same time, the festival serves as a juxtaposition factor between prominent European artists and Albanian artists.

TIFF has built a competition program in five main sections annually which will continue to be the same on the 15th edition: Feature and Short for European films and In Albanian Film Competition for films in the Albanian language, from Albanian territories and abroad, Student Film and Video Art competition.

TIFF provides time in its daily schedule for masterclasses and seminars with professionals in the motion picture industry geared for Albanian students of the cinema and emerging filmmakers, special programs & screenings, retrospectives, homage, tributes and international guests.

TIFForum is the main and most important workshop of TIFF and the biggest in Albania, a regional approach for the Script Development & Pitching Competition in collaboration with Torino Film Lab.

In addition to several theaters and venues, TIFF organizes special screenings, masterclasses and seminars in partner universities such as University of Arts, MARUBI Film Academy and the Mediterranean University of Albania.

JURY - Seven international juries comprised of leading film writers, directors, producers, and critics will evaluate and then select the best features & shorts with awards presented at the closing night ceremony.

FIPRESCI The International Federation of Film Critics will send its critics to the FIPRESCI Jury and give the FIPRESCI Prize

"Think Different, See Alike" is the slogan and motto of TIFF.
