We are happy to present you Tanja Rajkovic. On her paintings she is trying to capture the spirit of the time, something like a material evidence and the rough sketch of accelerated changes that are going on in modern society. The time of obvious contradictions, technology development and spiritual poverty, the time of significant economic differences, abundance and hunger. This is the time when indifference and superficiality are desirable features in the world where human life is cheap and there is no time for empathy.

Paintings are created following the tradition of realism with recognizable elements of pop culture and modern society. Bright colors as opposite to the not so bright content. Human figures are symbolic, set in unexpected situations and landscapes leaving the opportunity to the eye of the observer to notice and understand their relations. All these elements are in the function of the narrative that happens on the canvas and needs to be told.
