With the title "PICTOR CLASSICUS SUM – Modern Greek painting and classical tradition" the new art exhibition of the Municipal Art Gallery of Alimos opens at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Alimos (96 Ionias Ave.).

With Giorgio de Chirico's phrase "Pictor classicus sum (I am a classical painter)" as a motto, the constant contribution of the classics to the evolution of Modern Greek Art is underlined through the works of this visual exhibition.

Works by Greek painters from the 19th century until today are presented (Gyzis, Altamouras, Parthenis, Bouzianis, Vassiliou, Diamantopoulos, Moralis, etc.).

The opening will take place on Friday 1 March 2024 at 19:30. Curator of the Exhibition is Manos Stefanidis, Art Historian and Professor Emeritus of the University of Athens.

Με τίτλο «PICTOR CLASSICUS SUM – Νεοελληνική ζωγραφική και κλασσική παράδοση» εγκαινιάζεται στο Πολιτιστικό Κέντρο του Δήμου Αλίμου (Λεωφ. Ιωνίας 96) η νέα εικαστική έκθεση της Δημοτικής Πινακοθήκης Αλίμου.

Με μότο τη φράση του Τζόρτζιο ντε Κίρικο «Pictor classicus sum (Είμαι κλασικός ζωγράφος)», υπογραμμίζεται μέσα από τα έργα της εικαστικής αυτής έκθεσης η σταθερή συμβολή του κλασικού στην εξέλιξη της Νεοελληνικής Τέχνης.

Παρουσιάζονται έργα Ελλήνων ζωγράφων από τον 19ο αιώνα μέχρι και σήμερα (Γύζης, Αλταμούρας, Παρθένης, Μπουζιάνης, Βασιλείου, Διαμαντόπουλος, Μόραλης κ.ά.).

Τα εγκαίνια θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Παρασκευή 1η Μαρτίου 2024 στις 19:30. Επιμελητής της Έκθεσης ο Μάνος Στεφανίδης, Ιστορικός Τέχνης και Ομότιμος Καθηγητής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
